Christopher J. Wagner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education at Santa Clara University. His research focuses on literacy, identities, and multilingual learners, and he has written on these topics for a range of academic and practitioner publications. His work aims to extend understandings of children's reading, writing, and learning in ways that are holistic and child-centered. His research often centers collaborative partnerships with multilingual communities and families, including as co-teachers and co-researchers. Christopher received a B.A from the University of Virginia, an Ed.M. in Teaching and Curriculum from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Culture from Boston College. He is a former classroom teacher and was previously on the faculty of the City University of New York.Â
